No, seriously, the world is far too big to not escape the American Dream and see the world for yourself. Unless you truly want to rely on everything you see and hear on tv. So many of my friends and family refuse to travel to other countries, for reasons such as “not knowing the language” and “not liking the food they eat”. Funny thing is what you will find is that many countries speak English as a second language, as it is taught at the elementary level. And many American restaurants can be found worldwide – Starbucks, Burger King, Subway, and of course McDonald’s. And there is so much good, authentic food out there, you probably wouldn’t like some of your favorite restaurants as much afterwards.

So which excuses have you heard or used yourself for not traveling internationally? And are you trying to have those “concerns” addressed or just allowing them to remain an obstacle?
